Delete your Windy account

You can delete your account yourself, any time. Here is how, and what happens to your data.

How to delete your account

    In the app: Settings > Account > Delete account. On the web: sign in at app.windyword.ai/profile, choose “Delete account”, then “Email me the confirmation link” (if you signed in more than 5 minutes ago you’ll be asked to sign in again first).

    Open the email we send you. The link works once and expires in 60 minutes.

    On the page it opens, read the summary and press “Yes, delete my account”. Nothing is deleted until you press that button.

Your account is locked right away, your agents are revoked, and your Windy Chat account is erased. You have 30 days to undo the lock by signing in, but your agents and your chat history do not come back. After 30 days we permanently erase your account records. Messages you sent in rooms shared with other people stay visible to them.

If this wasn’t you, do nothing: your account stays as it is. Consider changing your password.

What is deleted, and what we keep

Some things are kept for a limited time, for the reasons below. This is the same as our Privacy Policy (section 7, “How long we keep things”).

Your account record
While your account exists, and for 30 days after you confirm deletion. After 30 days we permanently erase it, except what the law requires us to keep.
Cloud content and translation history
Until you delete it, or until your account is deleted. Copies can remain in our database backups after that.
Usage measurements
Aggregated. The identifiable form is kept no longer than 24 months.
Crash and error reports
12 months.
Consent records
Kept as evidence of what you agreed to, and afterwards as evidence that you withdrew.
